FAQ

Do I need to wear a lifejacket?

You are more than welcome to wear one of our Coastguard-approved personal floatation devices (PFDs) at any time during the trip but are not required to do so. Children aged 12 and younger must be accompanied by a legal guardian and wear a PFD (supply your own) anytime they are not in the cabin.

What is the schedule for the dinner cruise?

Once everyone has arrived around 6PM, the captain will perform a safety briefing in the cabin to review important details such as the location of PFDs, fire extinguishers, and waste cans. Written emergency and waste procedures are posted on the boat. After all guests have a chance to get settled into a seat, we will depart and cruise for roughly 45 minutes until we stop for dinner. After dinner and everyone is seated, we will cruise back to the marina arriving around 9PM.

How is dinner served?

The chef will plate and serve communal appetizers during the cruise out of the marina. Plates, cloth napkins, and silverware will be available on the stern of the boat for guests to help themselves. Dinner and desserts will be individually plated and served by the chef, and guests are welcome to eat wherever they feel most comfortable – on our flybridge with a portable table, around the deck of the boat, or in the cabin at our dining table.

What are the waste procedures?

Separate vessels will be available and labeled for recyclable materials (cans, bottles, paper) and discarded waste.  No waste goes overboard!  We will also have a bus tub where dishes may be returned once you have completed your meal. There is a “head” (marine toilet) located downstairs in our cabin with instructions on flushing – we ask that you please do not flush any paper materials, but that you use the a trashcan next to the toilet.

What safety precautions do I need to take on the boat?

As the captain will review at the beginning of the cruise, guests must use caution while maneuvering around the boat, especially if we are underway. Guests are advised to maintain three points of contact (like both feet and a hand or two!), wear a PFD if they prefer, and always remain in sight of other passengers. If the crew were to become incapacitated, there are emergency instructions posted next to the radio. If a guest falls overboard, one person should keep their eyes on the “man overboard” at all times, pointing to their location and yelling “man overboard” until everyone on board is aware of the situation. Guests are to assist the crew as asked in dispatching flotation devices and recovering the man overboard.

Can I drink alcohol on the charter?

Yes, guests may bring their own alcohol, and non-alcoholic beverages, cups, ice, and mixers will be provided. Guests choosing to imbibe alcohol must do so responsibly keeping in mind they are navigating a boat and driving home (or choosing a designated driver). The captain may elect to end the cruise at any point in time due to guest behavior. Let’s just have a fun, safe time!

Can I bring my own cooler?

Sure! We have plenty of room on deck for coolers, as well as a large cooler full of ice and non-alcoholic beverages for our guests to enjoy. No alcohol is provided on this charter. Passengers consuming alcohol must be of legal age and must have valid ID present.

Can I smoke during the charter?

You are welcome to smoke on deck during the charter, please just be conscientious of the enjoyment of other guests. No smoking in the cabin.

Is your boat handicap accessible?

Please give us a call. We will do our best to make accommodations, but there is an unavoidable step onto the boat from the dock and the only restroom is downstairs through a narrow cabin.

What happens if the weather is poor?

Our first priority is keeping all passengers and crew safe. The Captain reserves the right to cancel a charter at any point in time. We will try to communicate potential changes as far in advance as possible. Guests will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund if we cancel a charter prior to departing the dock. Guests will not be offered a reschedule or refund if the Captain must return to the dock due to guest behavior.

Can I charge devices while on the boat?

Please charge your devices prior to boarding the boat. We have a generator and battery back-up for emergency use only.

Can we swim or use the paddleboards during our charter?

Sure! If the weather allows, you are welcome to use any of our toys in a responsible manner while the engine is off during dinner. If you would like to visit a certain area or paddle for an extended time, please book a private charter. If you plan to enjoy these activities, we recommend you bring a change of clothes, a hat, and sunscreen. You may bring a camera on board, but please keep in mind that by doing so, you are doing it at your own risk.

Where can I sign the waiver for our trip?

Your confirmation e-mail will have the personalized link needed to fill out waivers for your group. If you cannot find or didn’t get an e-mail from us, give our office a call at 360-300-7810 and we can re-send the link via e-mail or SMS.

What if I get seasick?

Each person is different, and we cannot predict if you will become sea sick or not. Chances of getting seasick are higher if you are prone to motion sickness such as car sickness or airsickness.

We recommend taking a motion sickness preventive that can be purchased over the counter the day before your tour and the day of to prevent the possibility of getting seasick. We sell ginger products, Bonine (similar to Dramamine), and SeaBands( acupressure wristbands) in our office.

While on the boat, make sure to have access to fresh air, and make sure you can see the horizon at all times. Also avoid the lower cabin deck area and restroom if you are feeling ill. Please inform our Captain and crew if you are feeling ill. There is no refund for motion sickness.

Are there discounts for bringing my own food?

No additional discounts are offered if you bring your own food.

Can you accommodate food allergies/preferences?

Please let us know of any food allergies/preferences when you make you reservations and we will do our best to accommodate. Keep in mind that we are in a tight space and are not able to guarantee an environment free from life-threatening allergens like peanuts and shellfish.

Do you allow dogs?

Pets are allowed with Captain’s approval. Please contact us at 360-300-7810 for details.

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
